New Hybrid Format for this Blog

Short & sweet vs. Bigger & meatier

Hybrids are all the rage these days, right?

Hybrid cars.  Hybrid learning.  Hybrid roses.

Well, never one to shy away from a fad, I have decided to bring the hybrid philosophy to Scripted Spontaneity.  For the past few* months, the blog has suffered from two* problems:

  1. I don’t post regularly.  I may be able to put up good, thoughtful stuff twice a week for a couple of weeks, but then it tapers out.  Sometimes, I go months between posts.
  2. I have LOTS of great reading and resources to share.  I get hung up on the writing part and I’m starting to realize that it’s probably more important to share it here than it is to compose a 400-word analysis and reflection.

*You could argue that it’s more than two problems, and a lot more than a few months, but this is no time to be nit-picky.

The solution, as I see it, is to address both problems simultaneously.  On Sundays, I’ll post longer pieces that include my thoughts and experience around a topical issue.  These will be incisive, meaty, and maybe a bit controversial.  On Thursdays, I’ll post short and simple links, quotes, images, etc.  These will come from my adventures on the Interwebs, my interactions with teachers, and my day-to-day joviality.

Whether doled out in small bites or full plates, I hope that you will continue to visit Scripted Spontaneity and enjoy the writing and resources here.  Whether you love the new format or hate it, don’t keep it to yourself.  Let me know in the comments.
