I love the analogy to the swimming pool. Its one I think of often when I am looking for a way to use technology in my classroom. The shallow-enders also perfectly fits. I have several shallow-enders in my building, more specifically in my department. They scoff at me and the others who are willing to dive in deep. I agree its difficult when you look at the immediate benefits of this type of integration. However, I do think the long-term benefits of heavy tech integration are many. We teach students better and become better at our craft. I remember learning about reflection in college and I scoffed then. I'm learning that it really does make a difference.

[...] is drowning and you can't save it, just let it sink...straight to the bottom. Find another float to float on in the deep end. Perfect example...My classes were all doing the Twitter Project and it was going no where fast. [...]
